There are currently 326 peaks open for climbing including 20 royalty free peaks .People from all over the world come to Nepal for mountaineering, trekking and expedition. Mountain Climbing in Nepal is one of the most popular adventure activities for the adventure lover. The most popular trekking peaks in Nepal are island peak, Mera peak, Lobuche east and west peak, Tawache peak, Kwangde peak, Cho la peak, Cholatse peak, Pokalde peak, Nayanka peak, Pisang peak, Dhampus peak and so on.

Mountain Climbing in Nepal is yet another major attraction since Nepal opened its doors to its visitors in 1950s. Mountaineering can be range from climbing the biggest peak of the world to climbing lower peaks. For Mountain Climbing in Nepal you do not need experience however you should be mentally and physically prepared for adventurous climbing. For peak climbing, climbers are required to follow the rules and regulation formulated by the Nepal mountaineering association. Every climber need to obtain permit, which is issued by the ministry of tourism& civil aviation for 135 peaks known as mountaineering peaks and by the Nepal mountaineering association for 32 smaller peaks, known as trekking peaks with a experienced climbing guide and should go through only registered trekking companies of Nepal. Nepal mountaineering association have made the rule to deposit certain amount to the concern authority as garbage management deposit fund which is refundable only after the declaration of completion of garbage management properly. In case of failing to return or destroy the garbage, the authority is not going to refund the deposit. There are best four mountaineering seasons spring (March-May), summer (June-August), autumn (September-November) and winter (December-February).
