Truly a most fascinating adventure with high and scenic Manang valley and at beautiful emerald color Tilicho Lake which leads you beyond towards Lower Mustang at Jomsom on crossing Mesokanto-la pass in the midst of Tilicho and Nilgiris Himal range.
Tilicho Lake & Mesokanto-La Pass Trek, where walk lead on the same route of famous and popular Annapurna Circuit trail for a week, and then from Manang main village heading towards complete wilderness at Tilicho Lake, considered as one of the holy lakes by Hindu and Buddhist religion.
Starting this marvelous journey Tilicho Lake And Mesokanto-La Pass hiking with exciting overland drive to reach Nepal Mid West around low warm areas of Lamjung and then following raging glacial Marsyangdi River right up to its source at Manang.
Walk leads through nice and lovely villages of Jagat – Tal-Dharapani and Chame to reach at main Manang village after Pisang, where tree lines fade into barren wilderness of mountains and rugged landscapes.
After Manang entering into hidden areas of Tilicho lake which is least visited areas by main flow trekkers on leaving the main popular trekking route of Annapurna circuit, where our adventure heads into beautiful Tilicho Lake and then over a high Mesokanto-la pass to end our journey at Jomsom town, with flight to scenic Pokhara and then back at Kathmandu with mesmerizing and adventurous experience of Tilicho Lake And Mesokanto-La Pass Trekking.
Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu 1,350 m / 4,430 ft and transfer to Hotel.
Day 02: Full day in Kathmandu with half day sightseeing tour at places of interest.
Day 03: Drive to Syange 1,460 m on Nepal Western highway – 07 hrs.

After checking into your rooms and getting refreshed join the other groups for the briefing on
Tilicho Lake & Mesokanto-La Pass Trekking.

The evening includes welcome dinner in a nice and authentic Nepalese restaurant with Folk Culture program of Nepal while having your dinner.
- Day 02: Full day in Kathmandu with half day sightseeing tour at places of interest.
Morning, depart from the hotel for an exciting tour around Kathmandu at places of great interest, Kathmandu city and its valley steeped with historical and religious monuments temples and monasteries listed as World Heritage Sites.
After an interesting tour afternoon free to relax and prepare for Tilicho Lake & Mesokanto- trekking next early morning overland drive to Nepal Mid West.
- Day 03: Drive to Syange 1,460 m on Nepal Western highway - 07 hrs.
Morning an interesting and scenic long driving journey on Nepal mid west highway, journey leads to Beshishar town then on the dirt road to Khudi, Bhulbhule and Ngadi following the Marsyangdi River upstream, drive continues through rice terraces fields and villages to Syange for overnight stop.
- Day 04: Trek to Dharapani 1,920 m - 06 hours.
Our first-day walk starts with the uphill climb on leaving Marsyangdi River behind to reach Jagat village, a farm village with many lodges for trekkers.
From Jagat village walk continues on the winding path to Chamje, and back at Marsyangdi River to cross eastern bank into a forested area, with views of Annapurna and Manaslu mountain ranges, as our walk advances on a wide path to Tal Besi.
Here for refreshment or lunch break, and then few hours walk leads to Dharapani village for an overnight stop, Dharapani a nice village situated on the junction of Annapurna circuit and Manaslu trekking trail.
- Day 05: Trek to Chame 2,670 m - 05 hours.
After Dharapani walk-on wide winding trail with rhododendron and pine forest past Bagachap and Danque village, and then uphill to Timang village, from here onwards entering more Buddhist cultural villages offering views of Mt. Manaslu.
From Timang village few hours trek to Koto and then to reach Chame town for an overnight stop, Chame a large and headquarter town of Manang district.
- Day 06: Trek to Pisang 3, 230 m - 05 hrs.
From here onwards air gets cooler and fresher as walk leads close towards mountains, morning walk through an alpine forest of rhododendron and pine trees, following Marshyangdi River upstream with few short ups and down hills to Bhratang village.
From Bhratang village walk follows uphill into cooler woodland to reach a ride top small village of Dhukure Pokhari with few teahouses and lodge.
Overlooking views of Chulu’s and Pisang peaks, a possible lunch break here, and then afternoon walk descends to reach at lower Pisang village for an overnight stop.
- Day 07: Trek to Manang Village 3,450 m - 05 hrs.
Pisang village offers great views of mountains and surrounding landscapes, from here altitude gains slowly as walk leads into a small forested area with a short uphill offering view of staggering Annapurna II and III, Gangapurna Chulu’s and Pisang peak.
From the ridge top entering a flat valley at Hongdae village, from here onward tree lines disappear for barren, arid landscapes with cold, dry arctic climate.
Before Manang, visit old Braga monastery with old Buddhist relics, ancient wall painting and frescos and stunning views of Annapurna Himalaya, from here an hour walk reaches Manang village.
The houses built with traditional Tibetan style, Manang people are known for their rich culture and traditions.
- Day 08: Rest day at Manang for local hikes and acclimatization.
A necessary rest day for acclimatization, before heading higher altitude towards Tilicho Lake & Mesokanto-La Pass, at Manang taking short walks and explore Manang village and its beautiful valley, Manang the main and a large village of the areas placed on windswept valley by the bank of Marsyangdi River beneath towering Annapurna II-III and Gangapurna mountain range, a nice walk uphill for views of Gangapurna Glacier and the Manang emerald Lake.
- Day 09: Trek to Khangsar 3,734 - 05 hrs
After Manang village morning walk leads to another highlight of this trip, as our route diverts from main Annapurna circuit trail reaching one of the last village of Manang at Khangsar for overnight stop which lies on route to Tilicho Lake.
- Day 10: Trek to Tilicho Lake 4,140 m - 04 hrs.
From here onwards around the dry and arid country, morning walk on the downhill for some time, then uphill to reach Tilicho Lake for the overnight stop.
Tilicho Lake a holy spot for both Hindu's and Buddhist religions, offering wonderful views of snowcapped peaks in the comfort of the nice lodge by the bank of beautiful Tilicho Lake.
- Day 11: Trek to Tilicho Base Camp 4,800 m - 04 hrs.
After Tilicho Lake, morning walk further to remote areas of Manang valley, after a tough morning walk reaching at Mesokanto-La or Tilicho Base Camp, our highest overnight camp of this adventure at 4,800 meters high.
Overnight camp is set on a nice meadow, with chances of spotting some wild-life like antelopes, musk deer or elusive snow leopard.
- Day 12: Trek to Nama Phu 3,510m via Mesokanto La 5,099 m - 06 hrs.
Today a long and Big Day of this trip! Starting the climb early morn to cross two high passes, over Tilicho pass then downhill walk to the base of Mesokanto pass, after a rest then climb over Mesokanto-la pass with steep climb to reach the ridge at 5,099 meters.
On reaching the top ridge and the pass descend to our overnight camp in a small place at Nama phu.
- Day 13: Reserve - contingency days in case of unfavorable weather and trail condition.
A day reserved as the contingency in case of bad unfavorable weather and trail conditions over Mesokanto-La, as this route is least explored and trekked by other adventurer and trekkers.
For safe and to maintain our standard itinerary days it will use full and necessary using the spare days if all goes well where our guide will decide on using this day on route Jomsom or at Pokhara.
- Day 14: Trek to Thini-Gaon 2,850 m via Kaisang- 07 hrs.
After a tough walk of previous day, morning an easy day trek downhill to reach Kaligandaki valley with views of Mt. Dhaulagiri and Nilgiris peaks.
This nice and pleasant walk leads to Kaisang and then further to a large village of Thinigaon for overnight stop, located above Jomsom and Kaligandaki Valley.
- Day 15: Trek to Jomsom 2,715 m - 02 hrs.
From Thini-Gaon, situated away from main trekking trails where only a few trekkers seldom visit this isolated village offering grand views of Jomsom with snow clad peaks.
Morning a short walk as well last day of this adventure trekking where a few hour treks reach you at Kaligandaki river valley to Jomsom for last overnight within the high valley of Western Nepal Himalaya.
Jomsom headquarter town of Mustang region with a small airstrip above Kaligandaki River, an interesting country around Kaligandaki River valley within the dry and arid country with incredible views of windblown hills and canyons.
- Day 16: Fly to Pokhara 860 m and transfer to hotel near Phewa Lake.
Morning short walk to Jomsom airport then board on a small aircraft for a scenic flight to beautiful Pokhara during airborne, super views of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna Himalayan peaks, as plane land at Pokhara, one of Nepal leading touristic destinations and in all Himalaya.
Pokhara a picturesque city in the shade of Annapurna Himalaya with magnificent towering Machhapuchare Himal 'Fish Tail' due to its twin summit shaped.
From the airport a short drive to reach hotels by serene Phewa Lakeside, with time to explore beautiful Pokhara.
Pokhara a renowned and topmost touristic destination blessed with natural beauty and picturesque scenery of mountains-hills and lakes.
- Day 17: Drive / Fly to Kathmandu - 06 hrs journey (30 mins via air)
From Pokhara, overland drive leads on the same route back to Kathmandu with amazing and wonderful time on Tilicho Lake & Mesokanto-La Pass Trekking.
On reaching Kathmandu transfer to your respective hotels with the free afternoon for individual activities.

- Day 18: Final International departure from Nepal.
Your last day in Nepal, country of Himalayan wonders and as per your international flight time depart for homeward bound or to next respective connecting destinations.

Main Best Seasons for Tilicho Lake and Manang Valley:
Best times and peak season for this adventure from March till first week of June months with September to early December, March to May much preferred months when days are longer with sun-light hours where climate is warm during day time, cold in the morning and night time.
Much colder above 2,000 m high specially crossing over high Thorang-La pass includes wind chill factor along with morning sun-shine, mid hills covered in forest are bright with wild-flowers in full bloom during spring, especially the rhododendron of various species from tall trees to bush rhododendron.
Expect late afternoon with clouds covering views with chances of snow sometimes around higher altitude.
September to early December months another best season during autumn and pre-winter times, days are mostly clear and fine but short sun-light hours can expect much colder morning and night times with snows sometimes during the walk from Manang onwards.
Above standard Itinerary days where some length of walks can be shorter or longer as per physical fitness of trekkers and climbers, where some designated overnight camping can be changed, due to available space for camping with clean water facilities and etc…….
We will follow the itinerary if its needs some changes in case of weather, landslides and difficulties on climb requiring more days where our leader and lead head guides decides holding full authority for Trekking Planner Treks and Expeditions.
Himalayan climate can be unpredictable sometimes even in good best seasons, where April and May to first week of June will be the best time during spring times, when days are longer with enough sunlight hours.
Morning and night time as well in shade can be cold and much freezing temperatures around higher areas above 3,000 m.
Other months from September to November another great times for treks around Kanchenjunga base camp and other areas of Himalaya, when days are clear for views and to summit the top of the peak, although much colder months of autumn season with extreme cold during morning and night time, where sunlight is much shorter.
Visiting Nepal one can obtain entry visa from your home country at Nepalese Embassies and Consulates, if not one can easily get visa on arrival at Nepal international airport in Kathmandu, or any port of entry.

Altitude Sickness of AMS (Acute Mountain Sickness) might occur to some people on higher altitude from 2,000 m for some above 3,000 m high where taking slow and drinking much fluid and water can overcome from high altitude sickness or AMS.
Where some can take protective measures using Diamox or Acetazolamide tablets this prevent and reduce symptoms of AMS can lower headache in high altitude walks and climb.
People with severe cases and situation of HACE and HAPE where the victim should be brought down to safe and secure places with medical team or doctors to attend, the fastest means is emergency evacuation by any means of immediate and fast transportation where available.
Around Nepal Himalaya the quickest emergency evacuation by means of Helicopter services to bring the victims back to Kathmandu and for further treatments.
For emergency evacuation where trekkers should be well insured with good Insurance policy that covers all medical side and the use of Helicopter or other means of transportation.
Where all travelers to Nepal Himalaya require Travel and Medical Insurance to cover against unfortunate accidents and sickness covering Helicopter Service Rescue to safe places and nearest hospitals.
For Tilicho Lake and Manang valley Trek where people from 18 to 60 years will be allowed and this involves if one can get medical insurance from your home countries.
TIMS (Trekking Information Management Systems) required on the treks includes Annapurna Conservation fees as well.
Getting Into Nepal:
To reach Nepal one can reach by overland from India or Tibet, the main arrival from international flight to reach Kathmandu and Nepal international airport.
At present nearly all villages and towns do have facilities of ISTD and STD or cell phones or Sat phones, where one can easily communicate to your family or Trekking Planner in emergency situations.
SIMS cards available on showing your passport copies with small charge as per your time in Nepal.
On paying full package of the trip, where you need some extra money for your own individual expenses to buy souvenirs or for extra entertainment on route treks like having extra snacks and drinks.
