A marvelous destination out of this world, which fascinates you from the beginning of the walks to the end, where the route to Tsum Valley Trekking leads you from warm low areas of Gorkha district, located Nepal Mid-West Himalayan region to cooler alpine hills and then ending at arctic windswept terrain at Tsum.

Tsum Valley Trekking, an adventure which leads you into complete wilderness within mountainous region hidden behind massive peaks of Ganesh Himal also locally known as Yangri with towering face of Manaslu or Kutang Himal range around high and remote Mid West Himalaya.

Besides dramatic views of landscapes and mountains where you will witness old culture and impressive traditional life within Tsum villages as walk leads you into nice villages adorned with an age-old heritage of strong Tibetan influence which is just a mere distance from high and upper Tsum Valley.
Tsum word comes from ancient Tibetan “Beyul Kyimolung” language which means Valley of happiness and sustainable life which you can observe the villagers of the areas happy and strong and well content with their farm life and cattle herding.

Tsum Valley trek begins with an exciting drive to reach Gorkha district in Arughat town and farm villages of sub-tropical climate and then following the raging Buri-Gandaki River some sometimes on the same trail of Manaslu trekking.

As walk leads into interesting farm villages and lovely forested areas where our route diverts from the main Manaslu trail to reach remote areas of Tsum and then heading higher to the end at Mu Gompa with marvelous time on walks and overnight stops around Tsum villages.

After an enjoyable and impressive visit of Tsum areas return journey leads you on the same route for you to enjoy more of these fascinating areas before heading back to Kathmandu with awesome experience and adventure on Tsum Valley Trekking.

Day 01:    Arrival in Kathmandu 1,350 m / 4,430 ft and transfer to Hotel.
On arrival at Kathmandu international airport via respective airlines, where you will be received by our office staff and guide with a warm welcome greeting and then transfer to your hotels in the hub of the city.

After checking into your rooms and getting refreshed join the other groups of Tsum Valley Trekking at meeting hall or place for briefing, where our guide offers useful important information regarding trek and your stay in Nepal with us.

The evening includes welcome dinner in a nice and authentic Nepalese restaurant with Folk Culture program of Nepal while having your dinner.

Day 02:    In Kathmandu sightseeing tour at places of interest.
Morning departs for the tour around Kathmandu at places of interest, as Kathmandu valley is steeped with historical and religious monuments temples and monasteries full of World Heritage Sites.

After an interesting tour afternoon free to relax and prepare for Tsum Valley Trekking next early morning overland drive to Gorkha area.

Day 03:    Drive to Soti Khola 730 m via Arughat 570 m -06 hrs journey.
Morning transfer for exciting overland drives towards Mid West on Nepal's busy and main highway as the journey leads to lower warmer mid hills past farm villages and towns with views of snow-capped peaks.

As the drive continues with few refreshing stops heading west to reach at Dhading and towards Gorkha areas to reach at warm sub-tropical in Arughat by the raging Burigandaki River, and then drive continues on dirt road past farm villages and terraced fields to reach at Soti Khola, for overnight stop with time to relax and stroll around this small farm village.

Day 04:    Trek to Machha Khola 930 m / 3,051 ft - 06 hrs.
Frist day walks begins from Soti-Khola, where the trail cuts into a steep valley, within densely forested areas and through a number of small villages tucked in a hillside, then reaching a wide valley opposite at the point where a large tributary stream enters into Burhigandaki River. The terraced cultivated field belongs to the upper village of Lapbesi. From here our path descends to a wide, sandy riverbed following a trail meandering below the steep, craggy valley side.

At some length leading to a climb on the trail to Machha Khola for overnight stop, with a number of tea shops and a small lodge, the word Maccha Khola means Fish Stream.

Day 05:    Trek to Jagat 1,410m via Dovan and Tatopani (Hot Spring) - 06 hrs.
The trail from this small village leads into interesting farm villages and fields as the vegetation changes slowly, starting morning walk crossing a stream that names Machha Khola (Fish stream), and then heading upstream towards Khola-Bensi village and at Tatopani 'hot spring'.

An opportunity for hot bathe as time allows after a nice break walk carries on passing Dovan and Yaruphant villages to reach at Jagat for overnight stops, Jagat a moderate size farm village with shops and stores. 

Day 06:    Trek to Lakuwa 2,200m - 05 hrs.
From Jagat, morning walk leads to higher areas passing scattered farm villages with short climb and downhill to cross over a bridge to reach Nagjet and Philim, a large village with spread-out farmhouses.

After Philim walk through farm terraces of golden fields of wheat’s and barley, then a climb on rocky ridge top into bamboo forest area to our overnight stop at Lakuwa on leaving the main trail of Manaslu trekking route.

Day 07:    Trek to Chumling 2,386 m - 06 hrs.
After Lokpa village, walk heads to our first highlights of the adventure at Tsum known as the valley of happiness, as our route enters narrow gorge then with short descend and uphill climb into rhododendron and pine tree forest walking past small farm villages then climbing above Lungwa Khola to reach Chumling village for first night stop around Tsum Valley. 

Day 08:    Trek to Chhokangparo 3,010 m - 06 hrs.
From here gaining altitude slowly within the massive peaks of Ganesh Himal peaks towards east and Manaslu in the western direction, as the walk proceeds where villages and landscapes changes similar to Tibetan windswept plateau.

Morning walks leads on the downhill path to cross a bridge over Smatiking Khola, with views of Ganesh Himal also known as Yangra at 7,422 m high, and then reaching Chokhanparo village for an overnight stop.

Day 09:    Trek to Nele 3,361m after a visiting Milarepa cave - 07 hours.
After a pleasant overnight stop at Chokanparo, our route leads towards upper Tsum area at Nele (Ne-lay), starting with uphill onto wide open valley around windswept terrain with only a few small trees of juniper and willow that survives around this rough and arid country.

Walk continues uphill with views of Ganesh and Manaslu Himal, after a wonderful and scenic walk reaching at Nele for overnight stop, on route Nele with time to visit an old holy meditation cave of 11th Centaury Saint Milarepa, famous and popular among Buddhist as poet, singer, tantric guru his folk-tales and songs are still remembered by Tibetans and Buddhist followers.

Day 10:    Trek to Mu Gompa 3,700 m - 04 hours.
 
Today walk leads to main highlight and the highest point of the adventure at
Mu Gompa, as walk continues climbing high within arid terrain offering views of high peaks on the way to Mu Gompa for an overnight stop.

Day 11:    Rest day at Mu Gompa visit local village and monastery.

At Mu Gompa free and rest day to explore the unexplored areas around the high valley of Tsum with its traditional villages and interesting old Mu Gompa with ancient antique idols and scrolls, statue and relics this is one of the most important monasteries of Tsum and Manaslu area.

The village of upper Tsum located on route Tibet border, which is least frequented by foreign trekkers and adventurer, here enjoy the scenery and culture in completely natural surroundings.

Day 12:    Trek to Rachen Gompa 3,240 m - 05 hours.
After marvelous time at Mu Gompa, return journey leads to another impressive monastery at Rachen Gompa, walk on nice trails with some short climbs and downs passing few small scattered farm villages of cattle herders to reach at Rachen Gompa for overnight stop, afternoon visit Rachen monastery which treasures historical and religious artifacts and important statues of famous Gurus with idol of Sakyamuni Buddha. 

Day 13:    Trek back to Chumling 2,386 m - 06 hours.
Today our last day around Tsum valley, as the morning walk leads to a long descend to Chumling village passing farm areas and then back into tree lines, after a long downhill walk of 6 hours reaching at Chumling village for last overnight stop around Tsum. 

Day 14:    Trek to Philim 1,590 m - 07 hrs
From Chumling village, morning walk downhill the following river downstream with views of waterfalls then reaching villages of Samba, Tingding Chhupyang till our walk ends at Philim village for an overnight stop.

This is a nice farm village with school supported by Japanese (as Mt. Manaslu was first climbed by Japanese so this area is a favorite among Japanese)

Day 15:    Trek to Tatopani 1, 240 m - 06 hours.
From here onwards on a warmer area with paddy fields, after a breakfast walk leads to Tatopani following Buri Gandaki River through several small villages of Nagjet, Sidibas Bazaar, and Jagat. Walk further descends at Yaruphant, then to the lower area with the dramatic change in vegetation, finally ending six hours walk to our overnight stop at Tatopani a small farm village with hot spring as Tatopani in Nepali means 'hot water', afternoon enjoy the hot springs and relax. The locals believe that the spring water has a natural power to cure various disease and wounds.

Day 16:    Trek to Soti Khola 730 m - 06 hours. 
After a pleasant stop at Tatopani with hot spring, morning walk leads to Soti Khola walk along Budhi Gandaki River on downstream, after hours of good walk reaching at Gurung village of Labubesi, from here heading further within terraced fields and waterfalls to reach our last overnight stop at Soti-Khola.

Day 17:    Drive to Kathmandu -06 hrs and transfer to hotel.
Morning on completing Tsum Valley trekking with
amazing experience where an exciting overland journey brings you back to Kathmandu after an incredible adventure on far and remote corners of Mid West Himalaya at Tsum Valley of Happiness.

Day 18:    Final International departure from Nepal.
Last day in amazing Nepal, the land of Himalayan wonders as per your international flight time for backward bound or to respective countries.

“Everest Base Camp Trek & Jungle Safari in Chitwan” We researched many companies to book our EBC trek and after exchanged e-mails with Dipak he helped plan our EBC trek, tour in Kathmandu and Jungle Safari in Chitwan in a professional, helpful and organized manner. On arrival in Kathmandu, we were greeted at the airport with a friendly, warm welcome from Dipak and he helped settle us in at our hotel and took us out for a traditional Nepalese meal as well as organizing a day tour with guide of Kathmandu. Dipak's organization of our EBC trek was wonderful and the guide he supplied on the trek was informative, friendly and very organized in looking after us, making sure we had enough food, tea, and a decent bed for the night after a long day walking. The trek was beautiful and we had an amazing experience. We went back to Kathmandu after the trek was finished and Dipak greeted us and hear about our adventure and keep us informed about our next part of the trip - Jungle Safari in Chitwan. We stayed in Chitwan National Park for 4 nights 3 days and stayed at a lovely lodge by the river just outside the town. We went on Elephant safari, Jungle walks, bird watching, canoeing, traditional evening performance and much needed relaxing after our EBC trek. We had lovely accommodation and by the river and very helpful staff who looked after our every need. It was our first visit to Nepal and Dipak made our trip hassle free, organized and all with a warm welcome which meant we could enjoy our trek to the fullest. We had a good trip in Nepal last year on part of the Annapurna circuit, the Jomsom trek, with Dipak as our guide. There are no words that can adequately describe the experience we had on the Everest View Trek (Lukla, Namche, Tengboche, the Dudh Kosi River and all the places in between). The word "Awesome" falls considerably short in describing our experience. My wife and I were recently married and from our first date, we both had always wanted to trek in the Himalayas.
