Highlights

Bardia national park is located near the southern border of the far south West corner of Nepal. It is surrounded by middle hill to north and Karnali River and its tributaries to the west and south. It covers total land of 968 km and is the largest wildlife reserve of Nepal popular for Jungle Safari in Nepal.

Bardia national park is a huge protected area of diverged habitats for a multitude of rare species. It is a habitat of 150 species of reptiles and fish, over 400 species of birds and 48 different mammals. Following years of unsettlement within Nepal that left the park out on the limb, but now Bardia national park is much more accessible again and many believe the park is now set to become one of the premier Eco-tourism destinations in Asia.

Over 1400 people living in the area, many of the farmers were removed to provide a greater area for the abundant species within the park. A buffer zone and community forest were established around the park by the local communities. Without so much human interference the diverse habitats inside the park have improved greatly. Discover endangered animals rhinoceros, wild elephant, royal Bengal tiger, swamp deer, black, gharial crocodile, marsh mugger crocodile and Gangetic dolphins. Endangered birds found in this park are Bengal florican, lesser florican, silver eared Mesia, Sarus Crane.

The best times to visit this park are between October and early April when the weather is warm and dry. From April onwards the temperatures rise, peaking at around 45º C in May and pre-monsoon thunderstorms continue until late September. During the monsoon time, most roads and rivers become impassable.

Bardia National Park (1N/2D package) offers interesting sites and different day’s activities. Trekking planner will help you to make all your trip arrangements to Nepal as per your interest and timing. This National park is ideal for wildlife and also preserves an element of mystery for humans. There is always the possibility of making new discoveries.
