Yala peak (5732m) is situated in the north of Kathmandu in beautiful Langtang Region. It is one of the easier trekking peaks in Nepal so no prior climbing experience is necessary except the average level of fitness. Yala Peak climbing is one of the easiest, wonderful and adventurous trekking peaks climbing in Nepal.
Yala Peak Climbing starts from Syabrubesi after 6-7 hours scenic countryside drive from Kathmandu. Further, we will hike up to beautiful Langtang Valley to Kyanjin gompa where we can see a cheese factory established by Swiss association for technical support. This usually takes 5 days.
Then we will spend 3 days acclimatizing and explore the Langshisa Glacier, establishing a high camp at 4800 m from where we make our summit. The summit of Yala Peak offers the amazing view of Langtang Lirung, Dorje lakpa, Ganesh Himal, Naya Kanga peak, Gangchempo, Shishapangma (8013m), the highest mountain wholly in Tibet. After summit the Yala peak, we will take you either direct Syabrubesi or via Gosaikunda Lake and over Lauribina pass trekking to Helambu, it will depend on your time. Yala peak climbing is a unique adventure through Langtang Valley. Though you don’t need prior climbing experience you need to get a permit to climb Yala Peak from Nepal mountaineering association. In general August to November and March to May are two best climbing season in Nepal.
